Challenge:
The U.S Postal Service decided to roll out the American Motorcycles commemorative postage stamps at the annual Sturgis Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. To kick start the event, the Sturgis postal service wanted to customize their delivery trucks.
Solution:
Lowen Color Graphics was selected to design and manufacture the vehicle graphics. Lowen developed a design that personified the event and incorporated the van's tires for a realistic quality. The graphics were digitally printed to give the appearance of a custom paint job. Reflective vinyl was used so the vehicle would be visible on route at dusk and through the night, which gives the advertising message additional exposure. Lowen recommended 3M removable vinyl so the graphics could easily be removed when the promotion ends without harm to the vehicle's finish.
Result:
Even after the momentus event, this cruising billboard continues to promote the commemorative stamps. Plus the reflective vinyl makes the graphics glow at night, which also adds to the vehicle's visual impact.
